Macro Paradise Bachelor’s Beach – Scuba Diving in Bonaire
Disclaimer: Currently I’m living in Bonaire – living and diving my best life! Every few days I’ll be reporting on a specific dive site that I’ve been diving. Make sure you visit Bonaire.Digital – Bonaire’s Digital Dive Guide as well if you’re looking for information on shore and boatdiving in Bonaire.
Just after Donkey beach, Windsock and the popular eatery The Beach – you will find Bachelor’s Beach. Basically it’s a gap between the houses in Belnem, where you’ll often spot a hamburger truck…. Taking the stairs down to the beach puts you on a very small but scenery beach. Locals love to come swimming here and scuba divers of all levels visit for a relax and easy dive.
Sea Horse at Bachelor's Beach, Bonaire
My first (and only) Sea horse that I’ve seen on Bonaire so far is this little beauty. He’s been living for a long time at Bachelor’s Beach now. Playing hide and seek with enthusiatic Scuba Divers. Many succeed in finding him, but just as many fail. He hops around a bit and due to his dark colour he is not always easy to spot. If you read this beginning 2021, try looking around the two in tact oil drums, usually he’s a bit shallower than them. Keep in mind sea horses do move, so no guarentees!
Though less frequent as the Sea horse, frog fishes are also spotted at Bachelor’s Beach! Usually at a depth of 15 to 20 meters. I was lucky enough to find this little guy, after Bert & Kala (who I met at the East Coast), draw me a super detailed map. The next day when I wanted to show another buddy… he was gone.
Enjoy my vlog!
